Astrophil and Stella for Sir Phillip Sidney
" Loving in truth, ........................................look in thy heart and write."
In this sonnet, which is one of the sonnets of Sidney's sonnet cycle by this name, the speaker is explaining how he tries to express his love for his girl. He reads for other writers to imitate them in expressing love. He wants his girl to have mercy on him. His attempts to express his feelings using other poets' words failed because his poetry came out weak and not creative. So his muse (inspiration & talent) told him to be creative and to look into his heart and write . (i.e express his own emotions) .
