Sir Phillip Sidney: "Farewell World (Leave me O love)"
The speaker in this poem declares that his love leads him only to dust and as a result his mind aspires for glory and higher things that "never taketh rust": (Whatever fades but fading pleasure brings) He also decides to rebel against the tyranny of his beloved and to free himself from the yoke of her love This freedom "breaks the clouds and opens forth the light". This light will always shine and give him "sight to see".
